Work, glorious work!

  • Jun. 16th, 2008 at 10:57 AM
So, I know this is a bizarre title since most of my friends are enjoying the first day (or almost first day) of their summer breaks (I mean, almost everyone I hang out with is a teacher or in education in some capacity), but I just did 2 hours of serious revision on my second position paper for my PhD requirements and I'm stoked. I love writing (especially academically) and I really take pride in the way that the words and thoughts flow on the paper. It gives me this really strange satisfaction to have things fit together, like completing a 1,500 piece jigsaw puzzle. I still have a lot of the data analysis portion of the paper to work on, but I feel like the introduction and theoretical framework for the paper (like the edges of the puzzle) are so much stronger that I'm able to show how the data fits into the framework in a really clear way. Yippee!

Okay, enough of my nerdiness. It's time for a break and a Trader Joe's run.
